The Fluvarium (latin, window on a stream) was built by the Quidi Vidi - Rennie River Development Foundation, formed in 1985 by a group of concerned Newfoundland citizens with a mandate to improve, enhance, and conserve the aquatic resources of the Rennie River and Quidi Vidi Lake, one of three watersheds in the St. John's area. The Fluvarium is a world class interpretation and learning center with underwater windows onto Nagle's Hill Brook. It's a terrific example of what an informed and motivated public can make happen.
