Laying quietly on the surface
for breath to blow,
drawing finger,
cloth of oblivion.

Whence did you come
oh dusky shadow,
epidermal dross?

Hazing the wild wolf's face
framed sweetly in oak,
gathering like snow
over the months since
last I dusted.
